Open call for artists and organizations from Slovakia to join us for Reciklart's Art Colony 2026

As part of Reciklart festival (art festival of recycling and DIY culture) we are also hosting Art Colony for art students from Slovenian and Slovakian universities.

Our main goal is a student exchange of those studying at Slovenian and Slovakian universities.

First part of our Art Colony will take place in the summer of 2026 in Ljubljana at Akc Metelkova mesto. Students will reside and work there under the leadership of mentors from Slovenia and Slovakia. Final artworks that will be created will be exhibited at the main exhibition of the festival in Alkatraz Gallery.

About half a year later another student exchange will happen, this time in Slovakia. We will be traveling there all together with our exhibition for one weekend.

For successful completion of this project as part of the Erasmus student exchange program, we are looking for a mentor and a partner organization from Slovakia.

Both of them could be connected but not necessary.

Selection criteria

Base criteria for the selection of a mentor:

1. Experience in working as a mentor
2. Aesthetics and philosophy of the artist should match ours

Added value:

1. Higher education degree in arts and design

1. Works in art field
2. Legally registered organization
3. Aesthetics and philosophy should match ours

Added value:

1. Experience in working with young and young adults
