Open call for partner artists and organisations from Slovakia to join Reciklart's art colony 2026

As part of the Reciklart festival (an art festival of recycling and DIY culture) we are also hosting an art colony for art students from Slovenian and Slovak universities.

Our main goal is an exchange of students studying at universities in Slovenia and Slovakia.

The first part of our art colony will take place in the summer of 2026 in Ljubljana at Akc Metelkova Mesto. Students will live and work there under the guidance of mentors from Slovenia and Slovakia. The final artworks produced will be exhibited at the festival’s main exhibition at Galerija Alkatraz.

Approximately half a year later there will be another student exchange, this time in Slovakia. We will travel there together with our exhibition for one weekend.

For the successful completion of this project within the Erasmus student exchange programme, we are looking for a mentor and a partner organisation from Slovakia.

The two can be connected, but they don’t have to be.

Selection Criteria

Basic criteria for selecting a mentor:

1. Experience working as a mentor
2. The artist’s aesthetic and philosophy must align with ours

Added value:

1. Higher education in art and design

1. Active in the field of art
2. Legally registered organisation
3. Aesthetic and philosophy should align with ours
